Are you an experienced Early Years Professional looking to stay in the education sector while advancing your career? Do you have a wealth of knowledge and skills that others could benefit from? Becoming an assessor/tutor might be the perfect next step for you!
Your experience in Early Years education positions you to inspire and guide the next generation of educators. By becoming an assessor, you can leverage your expertise to teach and assess trainees and apprentices, shaping the future of the sector while enjoying a fulfilling career.
To become an assessor, you will need:
To deliver Early Years qualifications, you’ll need to obtain a Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement (CAVA). The demand for assessors in Early Years is high and there is also a lack of qualified assessors. Achieving this qualification will give you a higher chance of employment.
A recognised qualification and certificate to assess in your specialist subject area.
Increased employment opportunities to work with colleges, training organisations, and apprenticeship providers.
Flexibility to work remotely, full-time, part-time, or as a freelancer.
“I loved working in a nursery, but I was ready for a change. I didn’t know much about assessing at first, but since I discovered the CAVA qualification, I realised it was the perfect way to share my passion for early years education while taking the next step in my career.”
Stephanie A
Stephanie, an experienced childcare professional, wanted a way to stay in the industry while helping train the next generation. She applied for an early years assessor role but was unsuccessful due to not holding the required Level 3 Assessor qualification. She decided to enroll in our Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement (CAVA) and, within six weeks, successfully completed the course.
Shortly after qualifying, our sister company LXP Talent secured her a role as a Tutor/Assessor for an independent training provider, Professional Training Solutions. She is now settled and happy in her role supporting 45 apprentices, helping them qualify in early years education.
“Since undertaking her CAVA qualification, Steph has flourished in her role as an assessor and is now furthering her development with the AET qualification. Her passion and expertise make her a valuable part of our team.”
