The Level 4 Certificate in Leading the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice, often referred to as the Lead IQA Qualification is the most advanced qualification of all the IQA qualifications. It qualifies you to be the Quality Manager / Quality Nominee / Centre Lead at your training provider.
During this course, learners will develop the skills required to lead, manage and motivate a team of internal quality assurance professionals. It equips you with all the skills necessary to quality assure qualifications; manage the internal quality assurance processes for a training centre, manage other internal quality assurers, develop and write internal quality assurance policies and procedures, and manage external quality assurance (EQA) visits.
The course focuses on the principles of quality assurance, including the legal and regulatory framework, and the methods and techniques used in internal quality assurance.

You will work through your assignments online which will be marked by your tutor with feedback provided. There are no exams.

Step four:
Once you have completed all the units you will be awarded your certificate and you will be qualified to lead internal quality assurance.

(TQT)* with completion taking up to one year*(TQT) is the total amount of time, in hours, expected to be spent by a Student to achieve a qualification. It includes both guided learning hours (which are listed separately) and hours spent in preparation, study and assessment.
How does the course work?
There are no exams to be taken during the course, you will work through your assignments which will be marked by your personal tutor. They are there to support you throughout the course and will be your main contact for any issues or questions that you may have. This will mainly be through email/online feedback, but you can schedule a call if you want to speak with them directly.
Once you have completed your course you will receive a hard copy and digital copy of your certificate. There are no additional fees for certificates except for replacement hard copies which will cost £30.

Be able to plan the internal quality assurance of assessment, be able to internally evaluate the quality of assessment, be able to internally maintain and improve the quality of assessment, be able to manage information relevant to the internal quality assurance of assessment and be able to maintain legal and good practice requirements when internally monitoring and maintaining the quality of assessment.

Learners should be qualified assessors and have experience of working in assessment. You should ideally hold a Level 2 (A-C) in English and Maths. We will review eligibility on a case by case basis. A good standard of written English is essential, please inform us of any specific learner needs.

Yes, you will need to be working or have a placement in a setting where you are able to lead internal quality assurance. You will also require an expert witness to sign off your evidence based assignments.
You will access our online learning platform where you will find all the learning materials and resources. You will make your way through the assignments which will be marked by your personal tutor. There is no need for any face to face learning or observations by us.
If you are using your own learners then your expert witness will sign off any evidence based tasks or observations. When using our learners you will choose assessment methods that don’t involve face to face observations.
You will have your own personal tutor for the duration of the course, you will be able to email them and arrange calls for further support. Even though this is a self study course you will have one to one support whenever you need it.
TAQA stands for Training, Assessment and Quality Assurance. It is not a qualification it is the umbrella term for assessor and quality assurance qualifications. The IQA replaced the V1 and D34 qualifications, they are still recognised but no longer delivered.
On Average learners take around 4-6 months to complete the course but some finish it sooner and others take longer. It really comes down to how much time you can put in. You will have 12 months to complete your course. We will be able to discuss an extension beyond 12 months and there may be admin fees applied to continue.
